Hittade en förklaring till hur ordet goodbye kom till när jag läste Hamlet:
God buy you - The origin of the modern goodbye, this phrase began as God be with ye, which was then reinterpreted as God [be] by you and subsequently confused with God buy you, meaning 'God redeem you'. It was then reduced to God buy, and corrupted to goodbye though the influence of such formulas of leave-taking as good-day and goodnight. It was commonly used as a polite way of dismissing someone.

Såg de här blommorna imorse, och då kom jag ihåg nåt vi lärde oss i skolan när vi var små. Om jag nu minns rätt är inte säkert, men blommornas blad är tydligen stängda på natten och vända mot solen under dagen. Ganska häftigt tycker jag:)
